About

HEMS’ Mission Statement

We believe that the greatest support available to homeschooling Mothers is found in having a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, followed by the support offered by the fathers of homeschooled children. The goal of HEMS is to provide homeschooling families with resources, encouragement, and edification to help make homeschooling a positive experience; and one that follows the Scriptural pattern for raising children for God. Although HEMS is a Christian group, we encourage all homeschoolers in the Halifax Regional Municipality and beyond to participate in our activities and events. One of our hopes is to see more Dads involved at home and participating in supporting homeschooling in their communities.

Jeff and Stephanie Jackson are currently organizing the group. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact them by email at stephanie.hems.homeschooling [at] gmail.com

Our mission reaches beyond education—it’s about cultivating an environment where children grow in wisdom and character, following the Scriptural path to God’s purpose.

Our Quest: HEMS is your partner in the adventure of homeschooling, dedicated to illuminating your path with resources, uplifting encouragement, and the building blocks of character that transform homeschooling into a remarkable journey. Our canvas is one painted with the colors of faith, hope, and a steadfast belief in God’s plan for our children.

Unity Beyond Bounds: While HEMS carries the spirit of Christian values, our doors are open to all homeschooling families across the Halifax Regional Municipality and beyond. We invite you to join hands with us as we celebrate diversity, share experiences, and grow together in our common goal of nurturing young minds and hearts.
