All I Want For Christmas
When I got up this morning and walked down the hall past the living room, the sight before me was one of the most special this Christmas season.
One of my girls was snuggled up on the love seat, tucked in next to the tree, reading my Bible. The living room light was off so she was using the twinkling of the tree to illuminate God’s Word.
What better picture of Christmas than turning to God? I am not a mushy type person, but that scene nearly brought tears to my eyes. What a gift – to have our children choose for themselves that Jesus is the reason for the season. Knowing that this child could have played a game or turned on a movie or read any other book but instead chose the Bible is wonderful.
For each of us, as we are inundated with all of the trappings of Christmas, I pray that we would make God’s Son the focus of this Christmas.
Psalm 25:5
guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long
