Expert legal support, insurance coverage, and advice from our experienced staff are just some of the many benefits of joining HSLDA.
that is sustainable until post secondary. We see this vision to fruition by establishing structured Classical Conversation Communities across Canada, equipping parents through annual Parent Practicums, and providing a Christ-centered curriculum framework.
We are a Christian homeschooling family living in rural Maine. It is our desire to produce God-honoring, family-friendly materials. Our products are designed with ease of use in mind. Most of them were developed with our children and have been tested by them over time. We’ve been homeschooling for almost twenty years, have graduated our three oldest children, and are still homeschooling our younger ones.
Built to the glory of God, Rod and Staff Publishers was founded in 1958 as Pilgrim Mennonite Press. Our purpose is to supply Christian homes and schools with Bible-based textbooks and literature that impart truth and that in no way compromise the Word of God.
ROD AND STAFF’S PURPOSE: To provide sound Gospel literature useful for instruction and guidance in Christian ideals.
We want to provide food for the reading diet, not detracting from the Scriptures or supplanting them, but reinforcing them with application. “Give attendance to reading” suggests that the mind should be constantly occupied profitably rather than idly. We regard this task seriously, believing that Christians should read literature that obligates the reader to the Lord.
Words Matter. God’s Word matters. Your Words matter. This is why a solid language arts foundation is vital for success in academics and in life. Perhaps this is why parents are so concerned about how to encourage, teach, and grade writing; why families are nervous about what their students read and what they are learning from those books.
Allow Discern to Learn to support your family! I offer study groups based on Sharon Watson’s fantastic curricula right in your living room. We discuss the themes, intents, and message of classic literature, practice public speaking, and learn to write solid persuasive essays to prepare students for academic success in post secondary settings. The best part is that parents do not have to grade or give feedback on writing since that is included in the classes and students can learn either alone or with their favorite peers.

Have Tutor Will Teach was formed in April, 2000, to meet the needs of students in the Tri-County region of Digby, Shelburne, and Yarmouth counties of Nova Scotia. Home-schooling three of our children, the youngest being severely brain-injured from an accident, challenged me to extend my knowledge of working with a broader scope of clientele. I have a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Educational Therapy. I am a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist through the National Institute for Learning Development Canada and a Certified Dyslexia Therapist through the International Dyslexia Association. *I have taken a course in teletherapy so I am now capable of working with long-distance students online.
Have Tutor Will Teach works with a wide variety of students. I have worked with many special needs students as well as diversified learners. My Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics has enabled me to work with parents and their children on dietary issues that affect learning and behaviour. I have worked with pre-school through university students, ESL, and GED. As an Educational Therapist I have worked with people of all ages who have had strokes or Acquired Traumatic Brain Injuries besides those individuals with learning challenges. As a Dyslexia Therapist I have worked with young students and older individuals with dyslexia ranging from mild to severe cases.
