Word Search
We’ve been painting, cleaning, doing yard work, planning for school, sewing for the Christmas markets, spending time with friends and enjoying long days at the ocean. During a rare respite with nothing else in front of me, I sat down to do a word search. I love the patterns letters make and enjoy looking for words that aren’t even on the list.
This particular word search was based on Ephesians 1:3-4
BLESSED be the GOD and FATHER of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, who HATH blessed us WITH BLESSING in HEAVENLY PLACE in Christ ACCORDING as He hath CHOSEN us in Him BEFORE THE FOUNDATION of THE WORLD, THAT we SHOULD be HOLY without BLAME BEFORE HIM in LOVE.
All of the capitalized words were the ones to find. When I got to the Lord’s name, JESUS CHRIST, it was almost as though a curtain was lifted from my eyes and it was so clear to me that what I was searching for was JESUS CHRIST. Not just the words, but the Man, the Son of God, my Saviour.
There are so many things that we can do to live out our love for the Lord; the way we serve, do for others, practice stewardship and giving – all vital parts of our spiritual lives.
When I was a new believer, someone once said to me that every time I read the Bible, I will learn something – even if I am rereading a passage. They told me that the Bible was God’s love letter to His children and that reading it would help me develop a closer relationship with God.
Over the years, I have had seasons of being very faithful in reading the Word and I have had seasons where I have not made it a priority. Looking at this word search reminded me that finding JESUS CHRIST is something that only happens when I make a deliberate and diligent effort to look for Him.
Starting today – not when I’ve completed the other things on my To Do list, I recommit to be like Daniel in Daniel 1:8 and purpose in my heart to live for the Lord. Will you join me?
