Psalm 119:101 I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word.

Matthew 14:6-12
On Herod’s birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for them and pleased Herod so much that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted and had John beheaded in the prison. His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.
Have you ever said something and then wished you could take it back? Have you ever done something because it was what you thought was expected of you rather than what you knew to be right?
It is an easy thing to get caught up in emotion or a situation. It is a much more difficult thing to make wise choices once caught! Imagine promising to take your children to a movie that is popular with all of their friends. The other children are talking about it and the other parents see it as ok. So, you’ve made the commitment to your children and then remember that you can check it out at christiankids.com or Focus on the Family. Uh oh… the reviews are not what you thought they would be. What to do now? Would you still take the children (after all, you did say you would) and then deal with the potential consequences? I encourage you, Mums, to step up and let your children know that you love them so much that you need to say no. Sometimes we feel trapped by trying to please everyone when in reality the One we need to please will give us the strength and grace to deal with any situation if we enter in to glorify Him.
Genesis 22:18
and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me
